Fullerton Smog Check Test Only

Very disappointing experience. I purchased a Groupon that stated it covered most vehicles from 2000 or newer. I first brought in my 2014 Jeep last week. A broken-down van was blocking the smog bay, so they had me park in one of the vacuum bays belonging to the car wash. I waited about 30 minutes while they tried to move the van. The technician eventually connected a diagnostic tool and told me my Jeep would not pass because it had an old error reading, even though the check-engine light was off and the Jeep had just been repaired by the dealership. He claimed his $3,000 diagnostic tool could detect something the dealership’s equipment could not. I left and took the Jeep to another smog shop, where it passed without any issues. I returned today with a 2002 Ford Explorer and was quoted $75. When I showed the owner my Groupon, he refused to honor it and said I should have purchased the SUV option. He would not even allow me to pay the difference. He was extremely rude, unwilling to work with me, and would not properly read the Groupon displayed on my phone. The smog shop also shares space with a car wash, so there is nowhere to park or sit while waiting. The only option i

Great! They're so kind and friendly. I forgot my DMV paper, and they were able to use my car car registration information to complete my smog check. Service was fast and easy (15 minutes or less from arriving to leaving).

Quick, efficient, and very friendly service. The shop was also very clean and organized, which I really appreciated. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a hassle-free smog check experience. I was in and out in 15 mins. I used a groupon voucher and only paid $10 at the shop. Will definitely use this place again.

I purchased a Groupon for a smog check at The Brothers Smog Shop. I didn’t anticipate any issues, but my car didn’t pass due to the O2 sensor. No problem—I resolved the issue and returned for the retest. What surprised me was that they charged me $16.95 for the retest. In my 43 years of life and many smog checks, I have never once been charged for a retest. When I questioned the charge, the father told me that “rents are high.” I completely understand that running a small business is expensive, but that explanation didn’t sit well with me—especially since I had been told I could come back for a retest and no additional charge was ever mentioned. I was also told I should technically be paying full price again, but they were “giving me a discount.” At that point it felt less about customer service and more about squeezing in another fee. For me, it wasn’t about the $16. It was about transparency and principle. My father was a successful small business owner, and one thing he always understood was that long-term success comes from treating customers fairly—not nickel-and-diming them. If business is struggling, this kind of experience might be part of why. I will add that the serv

No appointment needed. I drove up and was in and out in 20 minutes. Very kind gentleman. Family owned business. They take pride in making sure you are taken care of. Drive in like you are getting a car wash. You will see their shop on the left once you enter. I used a Groupon and like any smog check shop, you still pay $10 there for certification. Great price !
